日治時期馬桶長這樣！ 山上花園水道博物館百年慶驚見當年廁所美學

100年前的馬桶長什麼樣？山上花園水道博物館啟用滿100年，為回顧一路走來的足跡，館方近來啟動田野調查、爬梳水道歷史、訪談耆老等，竟意外發現一個日治時期遺留的蹲式馬桶，四方工整造型、堅固陶瓷材質，竟然還用上青墨渲染技法，相當特別，水準不輸現代衛浴設備，將提供專家學者考據，見證這百年前雅致的廁所美學。

今年是山上花園水道博物館啟用滿100年，也是南市使用自來水百周年紀念，走過一世紀，為慶祝博物館百年紀念，市府正籌劃各項慶祝紀念活動，立法委員郭國文也協助向文化部爭取到補助，包括進行物館硬體升級，並結合田野調查，耆老訪談，希望完整呈現這段歷史，也才發現這個百年馬桶。
88歲的吳子中老先生就住在水道博物館旁，從小就常跑到水道附近遊玩，水道完工後，他也開始工作貼補家用，期間參與許多原台南水道土木修繕工程，他說，目前快濾桶室西側的空間，是當年辦公人員使用的小廁所，記憶中這個便器就是安置在廁所內，在還沒有化糞池的時代，一般人家就是在糞坑上方架上木板，做成簡易廁所，講究點的會用紅磚砌疊出小坑，這類陶瓷便器非常罕見。

吳子中表示，日治時期迄今水道經過多次整修，20幾年前一次整修後，他發現這個便器被棄置，因感到可惜，就把它帶回家收藏，前幾天聽說台南有古蹟整修時把古董級馬桶拆掉，讓他聯想到家裡這個馬桶，又正巧收到館方在調查文史的消息，於是就把馬桶送交給文化局。

文化局長葉澤山表示，水道博物是國內唯一水道歷史的國定古蹟，擁有眾多珍貴的文化資產，百年來也與山上及周遭區域產生密不可分的連結，將利用這次慶祝百周年活動，深化與地方連結，再創百年榮光。
