明金成婚後求子之路可說是相當積極，砸百萬做10次試管，積極備孕，1月才喜獲一對龍鳳胎，小孩生日也與妻子同一天。今年過年一家團聚，與愛妻在1月底才剛生下龍鳳胎，最後一篇貼文還停留在月子中心吃年夜飯，內文直呼感覺好踏實。沒想到在（8日）準備前往月子中心探望妻小的時候，因心肌梗塞倒地，妻子發現後緊急呼救，送往國泰醫院搶救後於當晚23:44分宣告不治，如今和妻兒天人永隔，突如其來的消息讓各界相當不捨。
檢警會同法醫相驗遺體，初判遺體並無外傷，由於有心血管病史，研判死因和心肌梗塞有關，相驗初步結果出爐，死因疑似是心因性休克。明金成妻子在親友陪同下，忍住悲痛前往第二殯儀館相驗丈夫遺體，還帶了一套衣服幫他換上，林沛締到現場仍一度無法接受丈夫的驟逝，情緒悲傷到無法站穩需要有人在一旁攙扶。藝人趙駿亞也陪同家屬到殯儀館處理相關後事，趙駿亞表示，礙於疫情關係，未來是否設置靈堂都還需要和家屬進行討論。
