隨著國內新冠肺炎疫情逐漸趨緩，國內旅遊日漸回溫，為提供安全的旅遊環境，讓業者能更有效率且持續進行防疫清潔、消毒整備業務，嘉義市政府補助旅行業者購置防疫物資、加強行動措施及防疫相關設備等費用支出，呼籲業者盡快提出申請。

嘉義市政府觀光新聞處處長張婉芬表示，近期國內發生遊覽車旅遊團群聚感染新冠肺炎，臺南、高雄皆傳出類似案例，雖然疫情減緩，防疫工作還是不能輕忽，嘉義市政府訂定「因應旅行業防疫整備補助要點」，針對本市110年5月19日前取得登記證且仍營業中，不含歇業及暫停營業的旅行業，每家一次性定額補助1萬元防疫整備經費，目的是與業者共同合作落實相關防疫工作。
觀光新聞處表示，補助自即日至111年6月30日受理，呼籲符合申請資格的業者盡快提出申請，也強調民眾外出旅遊仍應做好個人清潔及防疫措施，才能玩得開心、玩得放心。
