《球星世界》高雄鋼鐵人後場防守大鎖 年輕小將王律翔目指最佳第六人

PLG高雄鋼鐵人陣中後場小將王律翔年紀雖輕，但卻是陣中專防對方得分主力的「防守大鎖」，就算面對體型比他出色的球員也毫不畏懼，拚戰精神可說是「打死不退」，有時還會適時挑出來接管比賽，扮演鋼鐵人的「板凳暴徒」角色，季末幾場比賽也打出亮眼表現，明年球季將瞄準「最佳第六人」獎項。

跟一般台灣籃球員不同，王律翔在金華國中畢業後沒有進入高中及HBL，而是追隨學長吳永盛的腳步，與其他3名同學勇敢地踏上旅美之路，雖然國中畢業就長到180公分，但身材就此定型，赴美後面對人高馬大的老外，還得從大前鋒轉型為後場1、2號位置，從控球跟投射距離都得打掉重練，相當不容易。
從頭來過的王律翔，每天練習都比隊友多花1、2個小時進行基礎訓練，尤其世運球技術跟協調性等，從觀看影片到實際上場演練，不懂不會的就請教學長級教練，先追上技術層面的差距後，才能慢慢地加強對戰術的了解，學會從後衛的角度去解讀比賽，在國中時從未投進過3分線的他，也開始在外線投射，還偶有佳作。
HBL幾乎是台灣球員的必經之路，但王律翔卻是在國二就動了出國的念頭，想去看看外面的世界，和不同的人種競爭，家人也十分支持他去追夢。(高雄鋼鐵人提供)

王律翔赴美後不吃甜食跟炸物，後來連含糖飲料都不喝，可說是自律甚嚴，當時旅美的同梯都各自單飛，只有他最後拿到NCAA一級大學的獎學金，是繼吳永盛、陳盈駿之後的第3人，後來因為疫情影響，才離開美國返台就讀中州科大，去年投入PLG選秀，進入職籃賽場；王律翔自認天分不出色，且進攻並非強項，因此苦練防守，精進實力，王律翔認為，防守跟進攻一樣重要，所以不只練運球，包括投籃、側跑步、滑步、交叉步都單獨拉出來訓練跟強化。

王律翔給職籃新人年打了60分的及格分數，但這一年其實起起伏伏，季中時還曾因為被中華隊徵招打國際賽，回來後跟隊友搭配一直不順，而感到挫折且負面情緒滿滿，他說若以職業籃球員標準來看，表現不穩定就是致命傷，得扣不少分數，所幸季末稍微導回正軌；王律翔以「肯吃苦也是一種天份」這句話做為他的人生座右銘，因為自己既不是天才型球員，先天條件也沒特別出色，要做的更多、付出更多才能迎頭趕上、脫穎而出，他也為新賽季設下「最佳第六人」的目標，勇往直前。
