屏東潮州警分局獲報，在潮州鎮崙東里一處以鬥雞為比賽的職業賭場，經蒐證在昨15日11時許前往查緝，共逮獲李姓賭場負責人及賭客共26人，訊後依賭博罪移送法辦！

經警方調查，在查訪蒐集相關情資後，動員大批警力前往圍捕，經偵訊，李姓（男、60歲）主嫌也罪加一等，除賭博罪外，再依違反動保法函送主管機關裁處，最高可處5萬元以上25萬元以下罰鍰。
警方於（15日）破獲時表示，現場鬥雞「選手」正在相互廝殺搏命，鬥雞籠子周圍帆布血跡斑斑、布滿爪痕烙印，怵目驚心，警方當場逮捕26人，並查扣賭金49萬1400元、鬥雞4隻、鬥雞圈1座、計時器1個、碼表2個、記帳本1本等相關證物，經偵詢後依賭博罪移送屏東地檢署偵辦。

潮州分局長簡彥匡表示，警方取締不法無假期，絕不容許非法賭博行為，盼民眾勿心存僥倖，警方強力執行「掃蕩賭博」工作，即希望藉由警方的強力掃賭作為，能杜絕民眾賭博惡習及因「賭博」所衍生的其他社會治安事件。
